It's the BEST WEEK OF THE YEAR - the WeatherTech International Challenge!
I was finally able to take an extra day off of work this year (I'm usually at a trade show or a conference leading up to this weekend) and I spent all of Thursday admiring the beautiful cars and watching test day. Also, Thursday was rumored to be the only sunny day so everyone tried to take advantage of that!
Friday was busier than I remember - the paddock and the pits were filled with spectators and there were cars running non-stop all day. Plus, Friday is the race car Concours d'Elegance in downtown Elkhart Lake - wouldn't miss that for the world!
Saturday morning was nice and dry, but around lunchtime, the rain decided to come down making for some wet qualifying races.
Then it stopped raining and started to dry out for street car Concours, where our team member, Scott, won Reserve for his Fourintune restored Austin Healey.
But then it decided to rain all night and all morning making for wet feature races. Luckily, it stopped after the first group, the sun came out and dried the track for the remaining races of the day.
We'll be back at Road America in a little over a month for the Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival! See you there!
